Display settings

Display settings in WriterDuet are customizable for all users. The menu can be found under Customize>Display.

Default Settings:

CustomizeDisplay

  • Highlight note & media icons: when checked, note and media icons will appear highlighted when a note or piece of media is present on a given line.
  • Hide Line: options include ‘notes’, ‘media’, and ‘revisions’. When option is selected, the icon to the left of a line in the script will disappear.                                                  HideLines
  • Normal View: options include ‘Info’, ‘Scenes’, ‘Notes’, ‘Writers’, and ‘Toolbar’. These are the areas on the screen that can be turned off when in ‘Normal View’ (the view that shows up when first logging into WriterDuet). These options can also be customized under the ‘View’ menu.
  • Full Screen: The default ‘Full Screen’ mode shows only the script, Toolbar, and Menubar. Info, Scenes, Notes, and Writers can also be added to this view if desired.
  • Dark editor: When enabled, the pages of the script will turn from white with black text to dark grey with white text.
  • Show offline users: When enabled, any collaborators who are currently offline will still appear in the live chat.
  • Cork board in outliner: enables and disables the cork board background in the Outliner.
  • Page breaks: enables and disables the capability to see where a page will break in the script. This can also be managed under View>Page Breaks.
  • Color scene cards: When enabled, this transfers the color of cards in the Outliner to the scene cards in script view.
  • Compact scene cards: When enabled, this minimizes the view of scene cards to only the scene title.
  • Highlight your line: When enabled, the line which the cursor is currently located on appears highlighted light grey.
  • Highlights others’ lines: When enabled, this highlights the lines that other collaborators are currently working on.
  • Layout: options allow user to customize the script’s orientation on the page (wide, left, right, or thin). This can also be done under View>Layout, however the overall width is managed here.
  • Custom scroll: changes the appearance of the scroll bars for scene cards and the script (most noticeable for Mac users, however other users will see a rounding of the scroll bar when feature is enabled).
  • Default colors: allows users to change the color scheme in Normal View.
  • Full-screen colors: allows users to change the color scheme in Full Screen mode.
  • Select the toolbar icons you’d like displayed: line type shortcuts will always be included on the toolbar (character, dialogue, parenthetical, etc), but many of the other formatting shortcuts can be added or taken away for a customized toolbar.
